My Colour Poem is my work of the week for week seven.  This is my work of the week because I think I put a lot of effort and hard work into thinking out the rythym and rhyming pattern.

RED

Red is the colour my heart

Of my brothers farts

Of trolley carts

Not of the simpsons, Bart

Red is the colour of Planet Mars

Of mums Red Car

Of the Monkey Bars

And of Nannas Big Old bras

Red is the colour of Valentines  Day

Of the reflection Sunset on a Bay

Of the leaves in May

And not the colour of Hay

Red is the colour of a Poppy

Of a Poppies photocopy

Of a snapper that went floppy

And Ice-cream gone sloppy!

That was my colour poem about RED we had to make the end of each sentance rhyme and have a beat/rythym pattern of 4334. The first and fourth line had to have a rythym patthern of 4, the second and third had to have a ryming pattern of 3.    

I chose this story because it was my main highlight for this week. From Tuesday the 10th to Friday the 13th. This is my main highlight from camp.

When the year seven and eights were on Wellington Camp we went to CapitalE, and we made our own T.V news show. It was called ”WHAT NEWS”. I was the director of  “WHAT NEWS” and I had to tell the Floor manager, The Location manager, the Techproducer, the Camera operators and the Graphic Artist what they had to do and exactly when to do it. It was complicated at times but I seemed to manage. The everybody had to were headphones so that I could tell them what to do. The presenters and the wether reporter and the Interveiw team had to have microphones clipped to their shirts. In the Control Room is were I had to sit along with Renee Melanie, Steve and a few of the adults who wanted to watch us. I had to talk through a microphone to talk to everybody and to tell the floor manager when to start  the show. Renee had to switch over the cameras so we could see the right picture. Melanie had to deal with the sound so that when we heard the presenters talking they wern’t to loud and they wern’t to quiet. We could watch the presenters on a special T.V in the control room and as soon as they made a mistake we could hear it and we started laughing at them. Casey and Courtney were the presenters of the “WHAT NEWS” Laura, Skye, Alyx and Hayley were on the Interveiw team, (Half the time Skye was late). Tamar was the Graphic artist and had to design pictures for the opening of the show and for the opening of each story. We had three stories, a robbery, a dog movie and a school in termoil. Vicci was the person who had to sort out the words for the presenters, Zeke was the wether reporter for the show, he makes lots of mistakes, eg: Queenstown is now Queensland, in New Zealand I don’t think so! The rest of the Yr 7& 8s were either behind cameras or in the wardrobe. We produced two shows a Dress Rehearsal and then the real show.  It was a great day. Our show was live on the internet.

This is my work of the week because it was the most funnest thing I’ve ever done in the weekend.

On Satuday 7th my family and I went up to New Plymouth to got to the Truck/ digger show. my little brother Benjamin was so excited because he loves diggers. My sister saw the helicopter and was so amazed about it. My Mum said follow me and so we did, my Mum had just shoughted us on to the helicopter. (My sister has never been in the air before) We jumped in line and walked up to the helicopter and hopped inside the helicopter, it was very noisy. We took off and my sister was almost screaming. We had to put on a special head set so we could talk to each other. We went for a loop around New Plmouth we saw heaps of tiny animals on the ground. When we turned around we went on a sideways lean and my sister was saying “WOAH” the whole time. Then we came in for landing and we went down it was freaky though. After that we got an Ice-cream and then headed off home I loved that helicopter ride and would love to go on one again.

This is my WOW for week 1 of term four, this is my holiday writing. I chose this because I thought it has some verbs in it at least 

“Do you want to come and get in the cows with me charlotte”? said Dad. “Yes I said with joy (its really because I want to take my bike on the farm). “Alright”, Says Dad. I race out to my bike and back it out of the shed, we  race to the swamp paddock and it has just been raining. “Yay” I’m chanting down the cow race. We enter the swamp paddock and get out the cows and then we got out the palm kernal troughs. Dad went straight through a mud patch and then told me to go through it, I had my engine revving and then I took off and almost made it to the other side and my bike got stuck so dad had to help me push it out. Then we went to another Mud Run and it was long so I went for it and again I got to the end and then got stuck. Then I went home and I took some photos of it and it was very muddy. Thats it for the day because my bike might overheat.

This is my WOW for week four and I chose this because I had nothing else to write about and I think that I have used some interesting verbs.

On friday night 28th of August My dad, my sister and I went on a rabbit shoot. It was a freezing cold night on our farm while the darkness of the night kreeped in on us like a shadow on a sunny day, we all jumped on Dads four-wheeler. We took of slowly on the bike, we went into the first paddock and I had to shine the very bright spotlight around the paddock, scanning for any movement. I saw a rabbit, ”I see one dad” I said. “Where” Dad said. So I shone the spotlight on the sneaky rabbit and…  ”BANG” Dad shot the rabbit. We drove over to the dead rabbit, it was very still. Dad said ”Who wants the first rabbit tail for the night”. I said, “ Not me”. So Kassandra did. “Put your foot on its tummy and twist and pull on its tail”, Dad said. She said, ” I cant do it it’s too hard for me”. I just sat there looking up at the sky trying not to watch.  So Dad said, ”Just jump on the bike”. Soon we came to the end of the paddock and was searching in the trees, we saw some red eyes and drove closer (trying not to park our bike on the tree that had fallen down on the very strong windy night) I examined the bushes but there was nothing there. “It was probably a wild cat, I’ve seen them around here before”, Dad said. So we went through to another paddock to the other side of the bush. But no rabbits.  So we went through another few paddocks,  and then…  “Dad, dad I saw another one” I said. “Find it, find it”. He said. So we were searching and searching for the rabbit and then… BANG, “Dad shot it”. I said,  as the rabbit did flips in the air. “We shot it in the butt”, Said kassandra. It’s a Hare so it should have a mate around here some were, ’cause they only travel in pairs. So here we were lokking for another Hare only to find that, “Look over there”,  I whisper. ‘Bang’, Kassandra moved and bumped somthing. “Well there goes the rabbit we were looking for, its over in the next door paddock”, I said. Well lets go and look for some more then. After that long exhausting night we ended up getting seven rabbits all toghether it was hard trying to get all those fast running rabbits.

I chose this peice of writting because it was the only exiting thing that i done in the holidays.   my focus is to try and use more nouns, verbs and ajectives.

on the second week of the term2-3 holidays my mum and I put a lot of effort into digging up a garden.  First we had to mark out on the grass where our gardens would be. Then we had to cut through the grass into the dirt,( It wasn’t very easy though harder than it sounds). Then we had to pull the grass off the dirt, it was very hard work trying to break the roots. 

My soil was very good because it had lots of earthworms in it. Next my mum and I made some compost, it was made out of old grass clippings and some animal droppings, and occasionally food scraps. Hopefully we will collect some more seeds from the food/herbs that we are going to grow. My sister has a strawberry garden in half a drum.

On the 26th of june mum and I finally planted our plants in our gardens, we planted three brustle sprouts, five broccolis, three corianders, two peas, two strawberries, one parsley and three silver beet.

The chooks got into some of my plants so me and my mum had to mend all the holes in the chicken pen.

This is my first wow posted on my blog because I’m new here at matapu school so I think that I did pretty well and took my time.

I backed my bike out of the shed and turned it on. I turned it around and headed off down the paddock. Then I started racing around the paddock at full speed. !Honing! my little brother benjamin was watching me. I started drifting around corners and drifting around the trough. I did circuits round and round the paddock. Then came out of the other gateway and up the race, then drifted back in to the paddock again revving my bike to full speed. 

Then it was time to come up to the house for lunch, so I drifted back around the trough, but I went to fast and came up on to wheels tipping to one side. my heart was pounding, I shifted all my weight to the oppisite direction immediatly to flip it back on to four wheels again. I was terrified my heart still pounding my fingers shaking.

i didn’t go on my bike for a week and a half, then my family and i moved down here to Eltham and now somethings wrong with my battery.

I hardly ride it now.
